It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Simon- husband to Kay Washer/Frayne and daughter to Carly-Simone Williams and son Sion-Matthew Lewis and bampy to his only grandson Haydn-Douglas Williams.

He passed away on Friday 28th February 2025 in palliative care at Joseph Brant hospital Burlington Ont. His cremation was on St. Davids day, 1st March at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home Burlington Ont. A celebration of life will be forthcoming.

Simon was so loved and a fighter to the end.

He retired as a millwright, first working for British Steel Velindre plant Swansea Wales then Ford of Oakville then Toyota in Cambridge Ont.

Born in 1960 in Swansea Wales, always involved with sport, playing rugby for Mumbles and Dunvant RFC and Swansea Schoolboys, met his childhood sweetheart, Kay in school in 1975. Married in 1981, 2 children Carly and Sion before emigrating to Canada in 1989.

Always loved his rugby, highlighted by travelling to Japan for the world cup in 2019.
He was a member of the Burlington Centaurs Rugby Club and later the NOBS (Niagara Old Boys) in Ontario.

Growing up in Wales he also enjoyed singing and was a proud member of The Burlington Welsh Male Chorus.

A celebration of Simons life will be held on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at the Rock Garden at Royal Botanical Gardens(1185 York Blvd, Hamilton) from 2-5 p.m. Please RSVP to Kay via email at ukaylayle@gmail.com

I was very sad to hear the news about Simon. Its was almost 36 years ago we met at The Newcomers Club. We had many good times together. Simon was a lovely person and had a great sense of humour. Thinking of you all. My condolences Kay to you, Sion and Carly. Sending love. X ♥️
