We were so fortunate to have known Aunt Mary and would inadvertently gravitate to her at parties. She was a wonderful conversationalist and had a very forthright view on life. One of the funniest memory was the trip to Newfoundland for her grand-nephew's baptism. She and Mrs. Powers ended up looking after the baby, but somehow fell short on job in changing the diaper. I think the shopkeeper ended up doing it for them. Rest in peace Aunt Mary and hope that rascal Finn (the cat) finds its way back to you.

To the entire extended Powers family,
I got to know Mary first as a student nurse at the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing, then as a Staff Nurse, followed by as a colleague Head Nurse, but most of all as an Executive Alumnae Member of our School of Nursing Alumnae. Most if all, I will treasure all the great memories I have of Mary as a friend. Rest in peace Mary. You will be missed by many.
Love,
Joan Fletcher - President of the OCH School of Nursing Alumnae
